Stratifying cardiovascular risk in familial hypercholesterolaemia
People with familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH, inherited high cholesterol) are at high risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, especially if untreated or initiation of lipid-lowering therapy is delayed. But the level of risk is not the same in all individuals. A key question for clinicians is how to identify those who would clearly benefit from treatment with a PCSK9 inhibitor.
